Couldn't disagree with you more strongly. It's not a product, it's an animal. Meat is a product, and until the animal is killed humanely then it's not a product. "Every culture is different" is a weak excuse for horrible practices. They stone women to death in Afghanistan for cultural reasons but that is unacceptable. So is sledge hammering a defenceless cow to death. I understand your frustration at losing money on Wellard - I myself sold this morning at a 53% loss - but those comments are just appalling. There's more to life than money.
