Look, let's not release the doves and party ballons. It appears to be just another version of 'death-spiral' financing that most of us are familiar with.
The finance provider controls the price with the increasing number of shares they acquire, easily done where trading volume is small.
It prevents immediate death, but it gradually exerts the strength of a large python wrapped around the registry, tightening its coils with every exhalation.
On the upside, we continue trading and, if our products ever begin generating serious cash, the effect diminishes and eventually we might obtain a bank loan to meet our needs, which allows the company to prise the python loose.
Given we were effectively out of cash, and products are approaching 'make or break' point, it's fair enough - and presumably there was no better alternative.
