Seems rather unusual to me that WES is approaching a possible asset sale this way. Ordinarily the approach is "we're pretty happy with the assets we've got but, if you want to buy it off us, make an offer and we'll think about whether or not we want to sell it".
Makes me wonder what it all means in the grand scheme of things....have they got their eye on something else and want some spare cash to fund it?......are they conducting an informal auction process?.......does this imply that they think this is the top of the market?......or are they just testing the waters as they've indicated?
I assume Premier is just a small proportion of WES' coal earnings but it still seems a little odd. Assuming they sell it, depending on it's value, it could lead to some more cash being directed to shareholders which would be nice.
