ENR will be able to stitch this survey together with the previous one over the Worsley etc area much better than this QGIS overlay.



The boundary with Luni is not covered in sufficient detail to be certain of a DIRECT gravity connection. I suspect there is only a tenuous one with the various magnetic imagery possibly giving a clue that there is a gap in geophysics.

These are preliminary data with finals due at the end of Q2.

Flown at 300m line spacing probably with fixed wing aircraft also equipped with a air magnetometer.

Using letter, numbers and symbols some comments.
A - Luni gravity appears to be a distinct EW linear feature with perhaps a much higher anomaly than most in ENR's survey. This difference is not necessarily significant as many factors are involved - just an observation by a non geophysicist without checking the nature of survey parameters for WA1's work. Doubt it would make much difference to me anyway. [OK so checked a bit with this link to 400x400m spaced ground mag about a year ago but perhaps some more detail work since]

1 It appears the interpreted Mafic complex may extend to the NW towards Worsley and Crean though the latter two are separated by gaps. As is Caird and potentially partial gaps indicated by the white stars (2).

3 Distinct gravity high with no magnetic response (government mag anyway). In fact the relationship of magnetics to gravity may be relatively poor in many areas where magnetic trends are relatively well defined. Since ENR are searching for IOCG's with cross cutting relationship this may be a good sign or not.

4 Interesting?? low. Quite often a pairing of highs and lows in geophysical data.

6 Just for reference purposes I added a collection of second order gravity targets not highlighted by ENR. At 6 There may be some gravity/mag correlation.

7 Distinct linear feature interpreted on geology maps as a thrust with left lateral displacement.

I note @Wack's comment about possible dyking for Luni as a possibility. Yes it is Crean being drilled - got it misplaced awhile back and only just corrected. Pretty certain a drill rig has visited 5 sites at Caird and Crean though doesn't make much sense with the time involved..

Also @CounterVin's post about Luni being separate. I suspect this may be the case but geophysics doesn't necessarily pick up everything. WA1 expanded the Luni carbonatite in multiple directions following the initial drilling. Not certain what encouraged the new interpretation - drilling or more gravity? or???
