The upper (shallow) intervals are weathered and enriched in Nb. The fresh Carbonitite predictably has lower Nb levels i.e. not enriched via weathering.
The shallow zone will be mined first and therefore forms the basis for the current valuation of Luni (WA1). To put it another way, I don't really care about the grades of the fresh Carbonitite at 200m depth....the shallow zone is where the money is.
