Yes, we will never all agree on everything but I learn a lot from 2ic posts even though I don't agree with all of it.
I found this a good article and have always been a big believer of solar and batteries will do the heavy lifting in this country, certainly not Dutton's nuclear nonsense. With Nb looking to be such a tech breakthrough in the battery field, there won't be any demand constraints in the not so distant future as some have mentioned. I know I want a Nb battery in my car, my house and possibly boat ! My biggest fear for the future of companies like WA1 is having the wrong political parties in power that don't support renewables and the slowing of climate change eg politics from Trump, Dutton, Putin.
2ic mentioned the tyranny of distance but ozblue has got the path right here. And on the topic of trains this article describes how battery trains are planned for the future in the US to shift energy and take the reliance off the wire grid. What a great idea. OK we dont have as many train lines here in Oz but there are plenty of disused lines that could be brought back into action (electrified of course), which would also help take some of the trucks off the road. Anyway I don't think there will be any demand constraints at all for Nb (and WA1 will be worth a fortune) as long as the planning / politics goes and stays down the solar / battery path and not other more expensive and troublesome tech such as nuclear. The numbers and timelines in this article certainly stack up for it.
