the black square on the photo is the mud sump. I think this has been mentioned previously. It is also seen on the photo when the rig is on site. It is the area that collects the mud and rock cuttings as it comes off the shale shakers.
it has nothing whatsoever to do with the testing equipment, which would be mounted on a truck trailer.
