Bit of a jack of all its a bit facetious to think I wouldn't speak to a lot of varied people to get information I've been to over 40 mine-sites not that I'm counting not much of the Pilbara I have not seen lol I like to see the big picture one of my mates from school has a family office by way of his spouse that's about all I'll say about it but no mining experience so got to sit on a staurolite pitch for some startup capital so we all get opportunities based sometimes on who we know as well as what we know I did wonder if it was worth convincing them to do some funding for WWI but fintech is more their area, I get hit up for IT Project Management quite a bit so would say I have dabbled in process engineering and thinking outside the box after all trying to make things as automated and efficient as possible is the main aim these days it's a skill set to be able to analyse any process and put the IT cap on and the best way to do a process cap on and tell IT this is what we need they are not always logical them coders, of course I like analysing small caps and seeing risk vs reward, I've dabbled on buying cars from auction fixing them up and flipping them after driving them for a bit so does that make me a mechanic don't really want the executive mantle unless it's non executive, it comes with strings on your time attached so come on old gold I've been pit to port not much of any mine-site I haven't got a good understanding of what goes on across all areas, you know especially iron ore it's all one big supply chain so effectively the actual miners are only a cog in the supply chain don't tell them that though, Rail thought themselves far more special Rail and Port and they were the bottleneck and unless your in a thinking role Geo, Mining Engineer, The mine manager, dewatering or grade control your not doing much thinking mining other than what your told to do drive here dump
there, easy on the fuel, report any issues. I'm much more comfortable with processing plants, reliability and asset
management across the mining spectrum I would say if that's your Q even though done a couple underground mines from a production perspective understand grid mesh, rock bolts, fans (funnily enough air flow is important, access doors, guards so you don't run over your people, cement now I haven't had the pleasure of going down as yet for some sightseeing didn't get the pleasure from Olympic dam or nickel west sites.
It's on my bucket list before I quit mining. Did you know Sam Walsh was a Materials Manager for GM. I've worked with a couple South Africans they decided to upset maintenance across the Pilbara by taking half of their widgets away it forced them to actually plan rather than pretend to plan so the right leverage and strategy can change a large mining company dramatically with integrated mines well they were siloed we integrated them. They can complain about mobile fleet downtime affecting availability but the majority of time it's from lack of drivers and mismanagement of shifts funny what big data analytics can show you when you challenge the "miners". Being so close to Joburg I imagine they can drive in and get what they need from CAT in next to no time it's a huge benefit of where the mine is located which is overlooked it's right near the epicentre of suppliers for mining in Africa. Not to mention skilled workers and specialised contractors that is what will keep the costs down and production up.

I'm sure you thought you'd put me down make yourself feel better isn't old gold w chocolate brand does that make you chief chocolatier but to be honest I've got 3 bases loaded yep I've got an acceptable level of risk for myself and I'm planning on or have an eye to retirement or value investing full time so we'll see how the next two years play out for wwi and others we all come from different walks of life and have our future goals. Either way I won't cry about it just move on if it doesn't work out you don't give up and crying about spilt milk well... it's a waste of precious time. I still think you see the value here or you wouldn't be haunting the thread ha ha
