not surprising. I had almost 3 million of personal and business finance with westpac. Never missed a payment. Good financials with assets to match. I was paying an average of approx3% interest. I requested a reduction in the interest rate and wbc refused. I refinanced with commbank at 1.87 fixed for 2 years saving a potential 36k a year. WBC called me on the day of settlement and offered to match. too late. 18 year proven customer gone. needless to say I wouldn't have gone through the process had they offered to match ( not beat) the rate. madness.
