i still don’t quite understand the incentive of selling shares...

    i still don’t quite understand the incentive of selling shares to westpac in the buy back at a lower price than market price.

    is it because you are in a higher tax bracket and/or have capital gains?

    seems like sell low and buy high, but obviously that’s not the case or else nobody would do it
