"It does not start trading until 15 minutes after the opening?"
For some strange reason ASX starts trading on stocks alphabetically and it usually takes 10mins to get around to S32, WBC, WPL etc to trade.
I can't understand this! It probably creates distortions (although I can't pinpoint a specific issue myself).
Back in the old days, the traders on the floor were probably forced to work through the opening trades alphabetically, but from a computer trading perspective, there should be no need to slow down trading artificially (just add another server).
