BTW, options volume on ASX for Westpac is like sh*t! I just could not believe that there have been only around 40 - 60 contracts on each put strike 23, 24, 25 and 26. In the US markets, I would see many thousands per strike per day near the money. I see between 400-450 on the calls strikes 24, 25, 26 as it looks like a few people throw in $5 - $10 for a contract to speculate that the share price will be above 25 by mid-Dec. It feels like we are trading with the options maker, not with real traders. Real investors and traders who protect their holding would buy hundreds of contracts on a huge drop like this (or sell puts in the case they think like I do).
It looks like options is not a popular game here. But it can be incredibly useful in some cases.
WBC share price seems to find support at 23 is edging up a little (as many other stocks are now falling).
