    Nothing out of the ordinary except that when the market is about to close, a big wave of selling happened to bring the share price to the lowest of the day. This is what the short do to keep the price down and to trigger margin calls on the poor retail players who play on margin loans.

    Imagine when good news comes out, not a single share is traded when the market is about to open and the bid is already up 4% for a bank and for some other stocks up 40% or more. Volatility is always there. The only way is to go slow, buy some more at each low and later sell at a high for profit.
