The bottom line is Westpac has done aggressive cost-cutting and tried to improve and they delivered a bit better than expected performance in the last quarter. I believe we have got the double bottom so now it will rise slowly and the on-market buyback would kick in after the current buyback plan fails. Unless the share price races up to 22, I just don't see the current buyback plan going anywhere.
