More importantly (and what everyone seems to forget) is that BBs reduce future $$$ required to pay out dividends in perpetuity due to less shares on issue. For example:
A 50c dividend on 1.1B shares costs the company $550M.
A 50c dividend on 700M shares costs only $350M.
Every single dividend payment is cheaper moving forward.
