Karoon, like most Aussies who go to the USA, got screwed.
They bought 31 mmboe and approx 12/13 mmboe/day. 60% oil for US$720 million.
US$55,000 per flowing boe. and US$23/boe.
In January, 2024, Talos Energy bought 30,000 boepd (75% oil) and 69 million boe proved (not 2P) reserves.for US$1.29 billion of which US$325 mill was their stock.
US$43,000 per flowing boe, and US$18.60/boe.
The recent Who Dat well, unless they get a lot more pay deeper down, will not be commercial.
They say 44 metres of pay but at a 45 degree angle. Multiply by 0.7 so about 30 meters true thickness.
