I've just watched the presentation along with the question and answer session:
A few things that jumped out at me were
1. SOL were sitting on 911 million in cash at the end of the last financial year and this cash balance has reduced to around 690 million in the first quarter of the current financial year as they've deployed capital into a Uranium small cap play and a canning facility (both the business and property) in the Agriculture portfolio where they talked quite a bit about finding plenty of other deals and building more scale to the point of a possible float in the future.
2. They've out performed the market significantly in the first quarter of FY24 (Portfolio is approximately flat vs an all ords market decline of 7 percent)
3. The headcount at HQ has increased by 43 percent to reflect the increased size and complexity of the business. They've also just launched a new website and will officially rebrand to Soul Patts rather than WHSP.
4. Tom Millner answered my question on why he decided to resign but frustratingly my stream cut out literally right as he put the microphone to his lips! I caught the end of his answer which was that he's supportive of the process of board renewal and intends to stay involved outside of the board room going forward.
