Low-cost kaolin is fine for low-cost sanitaryware, but the top-end Japanese sanitaryware made by the likes of TOTO cost a fortune, and would not be made from low-cost kaolin. See https://justbathroomware.com.au/blogs/news/what-is-a-japanese-toilet-and-are-they-worth-investing-in.
Selling high-grade kaolin ore to be processed in Asia would be sold at a low price per tonne, but after beneficiation abroad, the kaolin would not be low grade. I would like to see WAK Announce information on bulk-ore exports before I wax lyrical about the potential of it. WAK's ore is substantially half kaolin and half silica sand. The blends used to make sanitaryware and similar products is 20% kaolin and 20% silica sand. The remaining 60% of the blend is typically ball clay and feldspar. Asia imports silica sand from WA, as well as kaolin, so the potential to sell a kaolin-silica specification makes sense to me.
