Another clue for me that this is ionic is minerisation from surface to bedrock, most the ionic regolith deposits from my understanding are from surface, and the buried ones typical are not ionic because the minerals are very heavy, so they rather be deep underwater then shallow and dry like Hyden.

typically it seems ionic like southern china is kaolin, and I questioned many times to Mike about this because of the kaolin deposit to the west, however he's always believed this is different regolith type than kaolin clay, so must just be a coincidence that Ziggy tan altech kaolin is next door.
