Wilcherry Hill lies in a unique geological position to the south of the exposed Gawler Range Volcanics. Deep fundamental structures have caused the emplacement of large subterranean Hiltaba granite batholiths. It is these mineralizing heat engines that have not only prepared the overlaying Proterozoic rocks but also emplaced substancial volumes of variety of economic minerals such as crystalline iron, gold, uranium, lead, zinc and copper. At Trafford our geologists refer to Wilcherry Hill as Aladdin's Cave.
