"Wide and shallow" is of course the key with this relatively low-grade mineralisation. and here it is in spades.
Lots more potential base-load material for when we eventually get cranking.
But what's really exciting is the interpretation of these shallow east-dipping lodes as “linking structures” within a much bigger system ...
The discovery of shallow, east-dipping lodes containing high-grade gold-sulphide mineralisation accompanied by broader disseminated gold-sulphide alteration zones with negligible surface expression associated with the regional scale Eastern Corridor mineralised system is significant.
South of Rangoon the shallow-dipping mineralised lodes and broader disseminated sulphide mineralisation display the same alteration, sulphide species and pathfinder signature as vertically dipping lodes at a number of deposits located along the Helens Fault, Fiona Fault and Cardinia Hill Fault across the Eastern Corridor.
The shallow east-dipping lodes are interpreted as “linking structures” that join the Helens Fault near surface with the Fiona Fault and Cardinia Hill Fault at significant depth. As such, extensions to these new mineralised positions may be discovered by following the “linking structure” both down-dip to the east and along strike to the south.
The implication of this discovery is that extensive areas of gold-sulphide mineralisation deposited adjacent to the Helens Fault are sourced not only from the depth extensions to the Helens Fault itself but also from an array of structures located across the Eastern Corridor including the Cardinia Hill Fault, Fiona Fault and East Lynne Fault. In addition, deposits located along these Faults are complemented by the east-dipping “linking structures”. The confirmation that the “linking structures” also contain significant high-grade gold-sulphide mineralisation opens up the potential of significant depth extension and multiple mineralised positions within the Eastern Corridor.
