There's a difference between cutting the portal in the lower wall of the Armstrong pit (currently being dewatered) and getting into production. If the portal is 20 metres above the pit base (so as not to flood the underground) and assuming a 20 metre crown pillar is left under the pit, the first production level will be 60 metres vertical beneath the portal. With the decline ramp at a 1 in 7 gradient that is 420 metres of 5 x 5.5m development. Add in stockpiles, sumps, escape way cuddies, vent drive and level accesses then you are approaching total lateral development of 1000 metres, mostly single heading. Aside from this there is all the vertical development required for vent and escape ways and also grade control plus production drilling. After cutting the portal mid year (hopefully) I can see development ore being trucked by Xmas tis year but production ore will be more like March and that's assuming a top down sequence leaving pillars.
