I wouldn't read much into it. The share price has fallen prior to good announcements in the past (for example see [1][2], where the share price decreased from 45.5c to 24.0c in a week, before rising to 46.0c on open following a trading suspension).
Re "its been manipulated", shorts have doubled from 28.1 million shares on the day before the AFR article[3] came out (November 12) to 57.1 million shares as of last Friday (January 10)[4].
Note that the share price had risen to 37.0c on November 13 (before being hammered down the next week) and the date and time listed on the AFR article is Nov 13, 2024 - 5:36PM (i.e. after trading closed on the 13th, which matches up with the time the article was first posted about on the HotCopper forum[5]).
