Expansion happened in the previous bear markets too. the curent expansion of Greenbushes, Pilbara mines and etc... These really nothing compared to the production expansion by SQM from 2018 to 2020.
Expansion come with costs, not just money! Take water for example, if you double the production, you will have to double the consumption of water, you also double the risk of contaminating your water sources. And where does water come from? build a bigger dam? pump more underground water? Will environmental authorities will approve your expansion whenever you want? And why are the local communities keep disrupting the production at SQM ?
