I can chime in here. In case im stating the obvious, one of the ways that businesses in this stage of their cycle can get and retain good execs is to issue performance rights. I've been there and received them for a business in a senior finance role. In the end I could see the writing on the wall and bailed on the business when I knew they were worthless but I accepted a lower cash salary to accept the role in an ASX business for the rights. I know that the issue of these and the hit to the PnL pi$$ loads of investors off, but its a worthwhile tool to get good people. Give them 3-12 mths and see if we see a performance uplift. If we do, then its worth it if not then cest la vie, and there has been no short term cash flow hit to the PnL.
Im an investor and hope there's some upside from this so want to give the new mgmt team time to deliver.
