My thoughts re Chinese are along the lines of @downandout above, ie. as Albermarle have ops there.
I don’t think this will be too much of a concern as the deal would seem to line up with what Beijing wants, ie: more raw materials provides supply and helps keep price down; processing of ore offshore as the 94% of Spod that is waste stays away from China. I think the Chinese are far more interested in moving down the battery value chain into the higher value add areas towards assembly - not up the value chain into raw materials.
