apart from those "invested" in markets and who have already suffered notional losses, the broader Australian economy doesn't appear to have suffered markedly yet, but there are now a few small indicators that things are tightening up across a wider sector.... I'm starting to notice that trades companies are now advertising for business - like I've even seen a few tradies sticking notices at intersections on traffic light posts "Tiler - Work wanted, ring...." - now eighteen months ago people wanting work doing would have had to beg these guys to come and do a job for them.... and this morning I got two cold calls from companies asking if I needed any work doing.... mmm.... the broader community will eventually get slapped I think.... it usually takes about two years for Australia to feel the full impact of US implosions.... and it's coming to a neighbourhood near you I fear...
