No, allegedly no uranium was found at that time.
As written here weeks ago and also documented with links, the government was looking for uranium for its Zwentendorf nuclear power plant.
When the power plant was finished, a referendum forbade its operation!

There you can see that environmental protection is regarded very highly in Austria and why El has had problems going into production for 10 years.....because many people are against it.
