Sprott is doing GPR over very nicely. They know that GPR is not going to meet the completion timeline so there is more gouging for them, plus the extra they will take from GPR's need to raise more cash. The royalty payment for Sprott is very high (I wonder if this is limited to the existing reserve of if it covers all future production from any additions to reserves). PNG also gets a royalty payment from the production so the total royalty payments will add a lot to the AISC, which is likely to be higher than currently forecast.

Bit of a gamble I would say between a short term payback from a takeover or a slow recovery assuming that GPR makes progress without further stuff-ups. In the meantime, the bottom is not yet apparent.
