Yeah - the Savannah orebody is uneconomic at normal Ni prices let alone the new "normal" set by Chinese Ni operations in Indonesia, I don't think the Cu grades at Savannah can save it as its a mixed Ni Cu Co concentrate and Co prices will be in the toilet forever - again thanks to the Indonesians.
Agree with you that if there were any truth to the rumour it would involve dismantling the concentrator at Savannah, and moving it approx 1200km closer to Sulphur Springs.
Weirder things have happened - I can see a lot of WA Ni sulphide concentrators and associated moveable infrastructure being pulled apart and moved to new places closer to gold and/or maybe base metal resources over the coming few years.
