There is an embargo on blasting during the half of the year that coincides with the reindeer migration months (Oct - Mar). But as far as I know, the DFS states that drilling and blasting is the current proposed method:
Conversely, the JORC table at the end of the DFS mentions alternative mining methods being investigated:
I am not going to provide further commentary on the possibility of that though. As mining is far from my area of expertise. But the trial mine announcements they are referring to are interesting to skim through:
