Fair question. Typically major players build capability through three ways:
1) Build: DIY
2) Partner: Work with somebody who has done it
3) Acquire: Buy somebody that has done it
For option 2 and 3 there needs to be a product / service. With VTX at the moment, there is a lab product. The product has not been launched. Therefore in a corporation it is difficult to get a business case approved, how do you value it? will it work? what other options are there? etc are common issues. When the product has been launched, has customers and is showing growth, many of these questions (and others) will be answered. Then a business case may stack up for a party to take option 2 or 3.
