Something from COP....
""A spokeswoman for ConocoPhillips told Law360 on Tuesday that applicable Senegalese laws have been satisfied in connection with the deal, and that the transaction has closed. She declined further comment, citing the pending arbitration"
Like WPL's statement, another "nothing" comment, carefully worded to try to give the impression they are in control, but IMO shows they are anything but in control. Senegal's laws might have been 'satisfied'...ie. we signed in all the right places!!.... But what about the JOA's rules - no comment made on them??
What I like about this expanding situation is that FAR's move to arbitration is not knee-jerk...they have been dealing with and considering the issue for 12 months...couple this with the wishy washy statements from both WPL and COP, there is going to be some very interesting times ahead
