I am happy with this announcement. It shows that PC has to be one of the best CEO's around. He is happy to walk away. It shows that he has shareholders front and centre. If the reports in the AFR today are anything to go by, POO is still in decline, and the LNG market is in a worse situation or will be. I would suspect that the Business Development team at WPL see some headwinds coming and conserving cash and shareholder equity and a good balance sheet is more important than buying growth in the market today. If the trend in the energy sector continues, opportunities may arise down the track. Was Wheatstone a good buy? Time will tell.
