This OFC membership is nothing to fear and is very positive news.

Joining the OCF will not change the revenues or licensing model in any way IMO..

"THE BUSINESS MODEL
All the ADRC technologies will be open
sourced except for the IoT stack which
is embedded in devices. Silicon providers
will pay a license fee and a royalty per chip.
Corporate adopters will pay alicense fee and
royalty per IoT stack deployed." (ADRC Brochure #2)

The Open source components of the system are:
A)the "server software" which goes into the hub. This was always a free component and Xped want this to be taken up and adopted on mass scale, which is where joining the OCF is beneficial.
B)
The DEB browser app. Also a component which Xped want the masses to adopt.
C)
RML language
D)
RCP protocol

The "Iot stack" is the licensed ($$$$) component which is installed into the flash memory on the micro controllers (MCU's). these are the chip which go into the "Things" and the "Iot Stack" is one which Xped get paid for.

17.95% for the Telink TLSR8269F512 chip
$US5 per chip for Leapin locks

Xped have other products which are not direct components of ADRC but which complement it, none of these are adversely affected at all.
