I honestly don't know if it would be better for the deal to fall through (yes it would plummet back to 40c) but in the long run if you'd at least have a chance of getting some value out of it.

Ive been shafted on IPOs, shafted myself on some that I didn't take, just all part of it.

I would say it's entirely reasonable to say a large percentage of IPOs only come about just to bail out private equity and dump the companies onto retail.
