Given the resource is in the DRC, the other question is around Australia's 'charitable' role in seeking to help poor Nations achieve economic development. This decision certainly smacks of hypocrisy in that regard, given in effect what is been said, if one believes the decision is to protect Australia's lithium industry, is that Australia does not support its own views around helping impoverished Nations achieve economic development.
But my viewpoint is as above posts, been Australia has identified 'strategic minerals' and basically is saying it doesn't want anymore of these minerals to be foreign owned, which has repercusions for all Australian explorers in those fields. If it is just a case of no more Chinese investment, well China's response will be interesting in itself.
All IMO
