Astute management, make a rational decision to close a mine before it become loss making and sensitively deal with the consequences for staff. A well run business which understands how to maximise the value of shareholder's funds. Anyone selling into this news is only reacting to the headline, not the underlying wisdom of the deployment of capital and time. If anything, this reassures me to take a more long term bullish view of my holding.
