That decision to sell half on Monday paid off. I had three other stocks to chose from that were trending up. Luckily the one I chose is up nearly 20% since I added to it so even accounting for brokers fees I am way ahead. Just confirms to me even more to never just hold and hope. If you feel you can get better returns on another stock then the small percentage you lose on brokers fees shouldn't stop you from taking the gamble and being more proactive. If this stock keeps trending in the manner it has been then hopefully I will recover my initial loss a lot sooner than I thought. I will then put that profit back into YOJ and hopefully lower my average dramatically. It means I am back where I started on Monday morning but by moving these funds around I have ended up with the same amount of shares in YOJ as I started with but with a lot lower average and the other stock I made my loss back on now has a few more shares added to it. All this cost me was time and broking fees. As we all know this game is a huge gamble but you can make your capital grow quicker by moving it around your portfolio and hopefully timing it right.
