Not that the comparison is completely accurate but the following tech firms all started in or around the GFC. Airbnb, cloudflare, Github, Nutanix, PagerDuty, Pinterest, Sendgrid, Slack, Square, Stripe, Twilio, Uber, WhatsApp and Yammer.
The simple thing they did was bring something to market that alleviated either a business or consumer pain point. Consumers and businesses are more likely to find a solution to pain than pro-actively acquire something that provides pleasure.
As others have noted a global lock down, tightening margins and a mass lay-off of employees has forced business into this pain point, now they need a solution like Yojee before it was probably filed under the "It would be nice, but do we really need it because business is going well" pile.
