I guess you have to decide that if this company is moving from product development into production. This means that they have spent the money now they are beginning to make the money.
You then have to answer a couple of questions: does the product/idea have merit; do you trust the management team.
If you want to wait for the numbers then that's fine. Some people don't want to wait for the numbers, that's ok too.
Obviously the SP indicates more people have confidence in the product, management and expect a turn around in the numbers.
