I am not a follower of Angry Birds gaming, but isn't the target market of users of the Angry Bird game/app, and therefore the related merchandise, a far greater age spread ???
what are the ages of users of the Angry Bird product?
I expect that the age range of those users would be include the ages of the target market for Yowies, but would extend past that to far older kids.
In fact I guess teenagers and adults would use the Angry Birdie product???
So a mother holding the hand of her 4yr old at the Walmart checkout, buys a Yowie for the 4yr old, and an Angry Birdie for her 12yr+ child.
cross -selling, same distribution channels, same production lines, same promotional space etc.
good promotion of A/B merchandise on digital media, then they go looking for A/B chocs and also find Yowies.
I don't think A/B will cannabilise Yowies sales - I think different product with a different customer appeal.
