I think management are probably right to focus on the US market for now. To try and enter the Australian market as well would likely be spreading themselves too thin. I think they should walk before you try and run
They would need to ensure they have enough capacity to meet the demands of their US customers plus any Australian customers. What happens if things really take off in the US and they need all their production capacity there? Do they just stop supplying to Australia - that's not going to endear them to potential future customers. And until sales really start they aren't exactly rolling in cash to ramp up production, better to focus on the higher margins available in the US. Plus they only have a small management team, they are probably flat out getting things going in the US.
They clearly had intentions to launch in Australia but pulled the pin, I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt that they did it for valid reasons.
