@wombat777 I like to entertain the idea that a low-dose Zantrene formulation (eg. over-the-counter & delivered orally) could be pivotal for Race if it can be labelled for "over-expressed FTO".
Dr T: "Doctors can use any drug they like off-label for any reason they like, but in the USA they need at least good Phase II data of efficacy to get the insurance companies to pay for the drug use off-label." [1]
Also Dr T: "The other thing that has started to happen is label approval for a particular mutations, not tissue type. Instead of a drug being licensed for say Breast cancer it is licensed for all cancers that over-express protein X." [2]
If a drug can be labelled for a particular gene mutation, couldn't it also be labelled for FTO overexpression? This would open the door to many off-label uses for many cancers but also way beyond cancer: metabolic and neurological disorders, obesity [3] etc. Note: potential market for FTO-related obesity is 1b patients!
