-Łukasiewicz - IMN implements the GR4FITE3 project-

The project "Graphite Resilience for Lithium-Ion battery anodes via sustainable European End-to-End supply chain" (acronym GR4FITE3) received funding under the Horizon Europe programme.

The four-year GR4FITE3 project aims to create a sustainable supply chain for the European industry related to graphite and materials used as anodes in lithium-ion cells for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage applications. The anode material will be a mixture of synthetic graphite recovered by recycling technology and suitably improved natural graphite mined in Europe.The consortium is made up of 10 entities from 6 countries, which includes one of the largest graphite mines in Europe, Zavalievsky.

The head of the work on behalf of the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals is prof. dr hab. Eng. Grzegorz Lota.

The project consortium will provide cost-competitive innovations, demonstrate improved supply chain efficiency and capacitive properties of graphite as anode material and cells manufactured with it to meet the needs of end-users (OEMs).
