I don't think it's necessarily time value of money that's causing this to be used by all generations but the psychological impact of paying $20 four times rather than $80 in one go.

I've done an objective analysis on APT in the APT thread but it's more a BNPL than a APT-specific post. It's based on research provided by Dr Sung, a Senior Lecturer at the school of marketing at Curtin Business school.
