They brought forward the quarterly by a week or so because they are past the quarter end and they wanted to raise capital... you have to disclose things if you want to raise money. Institutional placements always result in a trading halt, usually one day, but sometimes two days if there's a large overseas shareholder base so that there is time for them to decide whether to participate. In this case, the usual one day halt was the answer, announce the result of the placement in the morning and resume trading as normal.
