    Exactly. The irony is glaring. ZIP was once the poster child of disruption, claiming to revolutionize retail and banking with their flashy growth story. But now, they’re scrambling to fit into the very systems they claimed to outsmart—chasing profitability, talking about cost-cutting, and trying to appease the market they used to dismiss.

    It’s a classic case of overpromising and underdelivering. The “rebels” are now facing the harsh reality of cash burn, rising delinquencies, and a saturated BNPL market. Their story has gone from breaking the system to desperately trying to survive within it—and it’s not a good look.
