AFR update:
RBC Capital Markets said Zip’s minority investment in ZestMoney, with the opportunity to increase ownership over time, presents a successful entry point into a market which could be material in terms of contribution mid to longer term.“The Indian market appears to be attractive in terms of lower processing costs with the use of payment types such as United Payments Interface (UPI)“, said RBC analyst Chami Ratnapala.The broker added that Zip’s $400 million convertible notes raising in April, which boosted the company’s cash position to $330 million as of June 30, is well supportive of the minority investment.RBC Capital Markets has a $9 price target on Zip. Shares in Zip were up 0.6 per cent to $6.28 in morning trade.
