P/E goes out the window when you're dealing in tech with potential to change industries. E.g. Twitter, 1PG, LinkedIn, Reffind, Uber, AirBnB and I can keep going.
I think long term you are correct it will need to be bought into a decent P/E ratio but this is an era of Unicorns!
